So I'm writing myself a chronological missable list for Suikoden 2 and I figured that I might as well share it with everyone.

Optional : Put back your backup suikoden 1 files in the folder if you want to keep your suikoden 1 saves (you won't be able to load them otherwise, since the saves have been moved to the suikoden 2 memory card, or to be more precise, to the memory card with the same name as your suikoden 2 ROM, so they can't be accessed with your suikoden 1 ROM unless you rename things but it's chaotic enough)) Step 4 : Simply choose to load suikoden 1 save data after pressing new game So, the next time the emulator loads suikoden 2, it's going to use the memory card that was supposedly reserved for suikoden 2 only, but it will now contain suikoden 1 files, and the newly created suikoden 2 files (probably thanks to step 2) Then I copied the suikoden 1 files and added a "II" after suikoden, and removed the (Rev 1) so that it would perfectly match the memory card namethat would get created when loading suikoden 2 for the first time. Step 3 : So in this example, I erased the two suikoden 2 file, while remembering exactly what the file name was.

Suikoden II (USA).cue.sram (it was here because I launched the game before) Suikoden II (USA).4.mcr (it was here because I launched the game before) So what you gonna do is to rename your suikoden 1 file into the name that suikoden 2's memory card is going to take What I understand is, the emulator create a virtual memory card per game, and to be more precise, per GAME'S NAME. Step 2 : load the beetle psx core, go into setting => core settings and enable shared memcards (restart), and restart the emulator. Step 1 : Make a separate copy of your suikoden 1 file, and copy them to another folder, better safe than sorry

Here is a guide on how to transfer your suikoden 1 savefile in Ralibretro (EDIT : It works on Retroarch as well if you use the same renaming logic)ĮDIT Step 0 : I'm pretty sure your suikoden 1 save needs to be done at the final savepoint in the game, in gregminster castle
